Awesome blog! I found it one night when I was google pre laboring for 3 weeks…ugh. This cost summary makes me so happy I live on Canada. I couldn’t imagine having to drop that kind of coin…mostly because I don’t have that kind of dough. Keep blogging :)
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much!
Books — library, bookstore with comfy chair. Bring home only the ones you want for reference books, like The Birth Partner. Worth EVERY cent. And Thinking Woman’s Guide to a Better Birth. Birthing from Within was cool but I never got around to doing any of the exercises for any of my kids, so it was sort of a waste of money.
Classes — You took classes from Penny Simkin in person? I mean, you MET her? I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!
Medical stuff — I don’t think I paid more than a few hundred in copays for any of my kids including whatever tests I had done. Even my NYC births were under 1,000 in copays!
BTW… I think I may have hit 750 words just in comments today. Does that count? ;)
